Captain Chris Brewer Recognized

On May 16, 2016 Captain Chris Brewer of the West Pelzer Police Department was awarded the Public Safety Officer Award for Outstanding Law Enforcement Services by the Insurance Professionals of the Upstate.

Captain Brewer was recognized for his actions on November 2, 2015 when a documented gang member from Atlanta took two hostages at gunpoint at a residence in West Pelzer.  Captain Brewer put his training and experience to valuable use during this arrest that threatened the lives of others. Captain Brewer recognized and handled a harmful situation, taking appropriate action in order to protect the citizens of West Pelzer.

Captain Brewer has served in law enforcement for 23 years; he has significant training and experience in combat medic, SWAT and EMT service.  Captain Brewer recently graduated Magna Cum Laude from Tri-County Technical College with an Associate Degree in Applied Science and a major in Criminal Justice Technology.

May 7th – Leaf & Limb Pick-Up – 7:00 AM –  Leaves must be bagged: Limbs cut in 4′ sections.

May 9th – Council Meeting – 6:30 PM

May 10th – Court 9:00 AM and 1:30 PM

May 23rd – Public Hearing 6:00 PM & Budget Workshop 6:30 PM

May 30th – Town Hall will be closed in observance of Memorial Day.

Leaf and Limb Pick-Up

Leaf and Limb pick-up will be Saturday May 7, 2016.

Must have out by 7 AM

Leaves must be in a bag.

Limbs must be cut to 4 feet or less.

Mayor Blake Sanders and Town Clerk Paula Payton present “Please Don’t Litter” signs to West Pelzer Elementary School for use in their playground area. The signs were requested earlier this year by WPES student Harper Bain (pictured below).
